The Milan-based (Italy) solo indie games developer Coffee Beans Dev, today announced with great excitement and joy that their cozy cafe sim, ‘Tailside’, is coming to PC via Steam on January 21st, 2026.

In this community-funded indie debut, you’ll perfect the art of coffee-making as you serve customers in a bustling coffee shop, in gameplay designed to be enjoyed during your own coffee break.

In this relaxing sim game, you’ll customize your cafe and your coffee as you decorate the coffee bar of your dreams and serve friendly customers. Across laidback levels you’ll progress and play at your own pace without pressure or timers, brewing beans and a variety of coffee types to fulfil orders. With each day and level completed, you’ll work towards unlocking new coffee-making skills, animal visitors and villagers, and heartwarming stories published in a daily newspaper.

Make your cafe your own and use decor to turn it into a warm and welcoming place for your customers. Choose from hundreds of items to customize your hang out spot with signs, seats, color options, plants, tiles, counters and more, to design a cafe that really shows off your personality!

Tailside also lets the customization go further by supporting mods and community characters. Got a fuzzy friend of your own you’d like to see in the game? Want to turn yourself or your pet into an in-game character? Import custom characters and turn them into visitors of your cafe.

Key Features of Tailside

Progress Without Pressure: This is a wholesome sim, not a tycoon title and the gameplay is designed to be stress-free. Those who prefer to play without levels and objectives can also enjoy the Sandbox mode, which is more decor-focused.

That’s That Me Espresso: Brew coffees made with different flavors and strengths, create latte art, and unlock even more coffee varieties as you progress through levels!

Fully Customizable: Design multiple areas in your cafe, with a bedroom and a terrace, as you choose from hundreds of decor items. Import custom characters too for even more personalization!

Tailside: Cozy Cafe Sim will be released on January 21, 2026 on Windows PC via Steam. A demo is currently available.
