The UK/US & EU-based indie games publisher and developer Secret Mode and Austin-based (Texas, the US) indie games developer Moon Lagoon, are today very glad and excited to announce that their cozy creature-raising and pollution-cleaning game “Loddlenaut“, is coming to PC via Steam in 2023.

Furthermore, Moon Lagoon and Secret Mode have also just announced that they have released a brand-new gameplay trailer for “Loddlenaut”. So be sure to check that one out! (you can watch the said trailer further down the page

The new trailer focuses on the life cycle of the eponymous loddle creatures.

In the new trailer, revealed at The Re-MIX Online Showcase, players are introduced to the basics of loddle clean-up and aftercare. Feeding a loddle fruit will trigger its evolution, with loddles morphing into different forms depending on what they’re fed. Loddles will also lay eggs in thriving habitats, enabling players to grow and care for a maelstrom of loddles as they remove the pollution from the underwater world of GUP-14.

As well as looking after loddles, players will need to clean up the world of GUP-14, blasting away pollution and collecting trash which can be turned into new gunk-fighting technology.

Loddlenaut is scheduled for release on Steam later in 2023. A demo featuring the Flotsam Flats area of the game – and several loddles waiting to be befriended – is available on Steam right now.

Moon Lagoon is a two-person indie game studio based in Austin, TX.

Loddlenaut began as a NYU Game Center thesis project by Ricardo Escobar and Jin-Young Sohn in August 2019. After graduating in May 2020 and with support from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, they formed Moon Lagoon, LLC to transform their student project into a full commercial release.
