The Czech Republic-based Indie studio Pipe Dream is today very happy and delighted to announce that their dark fantasy 4X strategy game “The Mystic” is now available for PC via Steam.

From the enigmatic minds of Pipe Dream’s developers, this occult 4X strategy game encourages players to swear an oath to one of the five ancient gods. With their favour to aid you, rage battle against the High King for control of a falling empire.

Each deity offers a unique set of abilities that can help or hinder your campaign. Side with Nergal to raise an army of the dead to fight in your stead, or use Pallanti’s blessings to mutate your troops and get an edge over your enemies.

With terra-forming magic and position based warfare, The Mystic puts the player’s tactical and strategic skills to the ultimate test. Corrupt and spoil the earth to put your enemies at a disadvantage, but a reckless tactician may risk scarring it permanently.

This dark fantasty strategy game has been a labour of love for indie developer PipeDream for many years and finally launched on Steam via Early Access in January 2021. The full version of The Mystic launched in full on March 8th.

“Working on The Mystic was a great opportunity to follow my gaming instinct and craft something new, based on a genre I’m very passionate about,” explained Tomas Axamit, the lead developer at PipeDream studio.

“After 5 years of hard work on the Mystic, I’m excited to bring this title to Steam. I hope it will invoke the feel of old school strategy games I played in my childhood.”

The Mystic offers a solo campaign with several unique story lines each with original quests and multiple possible endings. A local multiplayer mode also lets players battle their friends to see who will be crowned ruler.

The Mystic is available on PC via Steam from today, priced $18.99 / £14.49.
