Bologna, Italy – February 12, 2026. Indie developer Power Up Team has announced that Vespera Bononia, its dark fantasy action-roguelite, will launch on PC via Steam on March 13, 2026. A brand-new release date trailer, unveiled today, offers a deeper look at the game’s frenetic combat, arcane abilities, and nightmarish vision of a city consumed by cosmic horror. Set in a twisted, gothic reimagining of medieval Bologna, Vespera Bononia is a third-person action game that blends magical combat and projectiles with bullet-hell-inspired encounters into fast-paced, ever-shifting runs. Players can switch classes mid-combat, wield powerful spell synergies, and adapt on the fly as the city reshapes itself with every attempt to survive its cursed streets.

Alongside the announcement, an updated, free demo is now available on Steam, giving players a substantial taste of the experience ahead. The demo offers intense combat encounters, grotesque enemies and elite threats, early relics and synergies, and a first look at the game’s soul-catalyst system, where your class and abilities evolve dynamically based on your choices. This is a brutal introduction to the game’s core loop of risk, experimentation, and mastery.

A City Reborn in Shadow

More than a fantasy setting, Vespera Bononia is a dark digital twin of Bologna itself. It draws inspiration from real-world architectural scans and references, reworked to transform historic landmarks, from basilicas and towers to cloisters and underground catacombs, into surreal, haunted spaces steeped in arcane mystery. The result is a city that feels authentic, unsettling, and constantly on the brink of collapse.

Combat is designed to be aggressive and reactive, demanding precise movement, well-timed dodges, and mastery of evolving magical builds. With a roguelite structure, a soulslike edge, and a shared soul across four distinct characters, no two runs play the same, and every death reshapes the path forward.
