Press release:
Paris / France / 16 December 2021.
The France-based indie games developer Game Source Studio today announced with great thrill and delight that their Samurai-themed deck-building strategy/adventure game “Mahokenshi” is coming to PC via Steam Early Access in January next year (2022).
Furthermore, Game Source Studio has also just announced that they have just opened up its doors to their Samurai Houses, since “Mahokenshi” is now an open community-led development project ahead of its Early Access launch in January 2022. So as of now, “Mahokenshi” is now an open preview title for all via Steam.
Giving players the freedom to play and experience all that Mahokenshi has to offer, the Early Access Preview – complete with new trailer – will come loaded with a raft of major improvements that the community have sought. From revamped combat visual effects, a progression system, weather themed maps and new missions to complete, this update (with accompanying video) not only showcases the rapid improvements being made to the game, but also a team eagerly implementing player feedback.
Mahokenshi is a potent combination of deck building and hex-grid strategy that intertwines the deep tactical play of card games, with the strategic turn-based thinking of board games.
As Mahokenshi – a Samurai Mage from one of the Celestial Isles’ four houses – players will need to protect the Kingdom against an encroaching corruption. Through strategy, positioning and tactics, they will need to utilise over 300 lovingly illustrated cards to explore the world, vanquish powerful demons and banish the evil that plagues the land.
Brimming with challenge, Mahokenshi’s new development approach invites players to feedback their experiences, participate in development discussions and explore a vibrant world filled with quests, cards and formidable foes, all to restore peace to the Celestial Isles one hex at a time.
Mahokenshi’s preview can be downloaded now on Steam, with its Early Access set to launch in Q1 2022. Players can follow the game’s social media channels on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to keep in touch with the latest news.
