Press release:
PQube (London, UK) – April 22nd, 2021.
The UK-based video game publisher PQube and the world-famous Japan-based video games developer Arc System Works, today announced with great pride and joy that their classic dungeon crawling JRPG “Kowloon High-School Chronicle” is coming to Europe for the Nintendo Switch on May 21st (2021) as both a physical and digital title.

We’re pleased to reveal the contents of the Kowloon High-School Chronicle Collectors Edition announced back in January, as well as a bonus 10% discount on all Nintendo eShop pre-orders until launch.

Combining gameplay mechanics from JRPGs with first person dungeon crawling elements, Kowloon High-School Chronicle was initially released as a Japanese exclusive on the PlayStation 2, following which it amassed a loyal cult following over the years, spurring its launch in the West.

Together with our good friends at Funstock, we are pleased to reveal the contents of Kowloon High-School Chronicle Collectors Edition version.

Featuring a limited edition box, and 2 acrylic standees with artwork from the original Japan-only PlayStation 2 version, the Collectors Edition will be available only on the Funstock store.

To celebrate the cult hit finally coming to the West, all pre-orders made on the Nintendo eShop will also receive 10% off launch price!

Take on the role of Kuro Habaki as you join a society of treasure hunters, dedicated to seeking hidden relics that are said to perform miracles, and unlocking their power!

Your next mission takes place at Kamiyoshi High School in Tokyo where mystery surrounds the nearby cemetery and the ruins beneath. As Habaki, you must earn the trust and friendship of your classmates to team up, and with their help uncover the school’s mysterious secrets.

Utilising the unique, in depth communication mechanic, engage with your fellow classmates and navigate life as high school student with complex relationships and interactions by selected from one of nine different emotional responses.

Joy, love, anger, sadness and more will determine the tone of your interactions, influencing how other characters will respond to you throughout the game.

Form strong bonds as allies by collecting purikura style photobooth images of your friends in your address book, before heading out to mysterious ruins to discover relics and face ancient creatures with their help!

In the evening, abandon your normal life as a student and take on the guise of treasure hunter. Explore complex ruins solving puzzles, battling creatures and avoiding traps as you search for ancient relics.

With turn-based combat, utilise the Action Point system that allows you to move around and attack until the points are depleted. Collect items, craft, and solve puzzles to clear each dungeon and collect artifacts.
