Barcelona, Spain – July 10th 2023.
The Barcelona-based (Spain) indie games developer Grimorio of Games today announced with great thrill and joy that their farming horde/survival RPG “Whispike Survivors: Sword of the Necromancer“, is coming to PC (via Steam) and consoles (PS5, PS4, and the Nintendo Switch) on July 20th, 2023 (Xbox players will have to wait until August 3rd before the game drops on Xbox consoles).

Whispike Survivors is a spin-off game of Sword of the Necromancer which started as an April Fools joke and blends two trendy game genres: horde survivor and farm simulator.

About Whispike Survivors: Sword of the Necromancer

Cultivate the strongest monster in this horde survivor farming game! Fight against waves of creatures to beef up your Whispike and use its seeds to create even stronger hybrids!

Key features:
Defeat hordes of enemies to make your Whispike stronger.
Use the seeds that Whispikes drop when dying to grow them in your Whispike farm and make even stronger hybrids!
Turn your foes into manure to accelerate the Whispike’s growth!

In this game you will control one of Sword of the Necromancer’s monsters and make it fight other critters to make it the strongest! Were you defeated? Don’t worry! You can take your last monster’s seed, plant it and get it back.

Only “adult” Whispikes are eligible to fight, so you will have to wait and take care of your farm until they grow (or play with a default one in the meantime). Also, you might not get exactly what you expect: by planting seeds in neighboring slots you can get hybrids that combine the original seeds’ attributes!

Whispike Survivors will be available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.

Grimorio of Games is a small team based in Barcelona. After developing the hyper-active action platformer Super Hyperactive Ninja, Grimorio of Games released Sword of the Necromancer, a top-down 2D Action RPG with roguelike elements, in 2021.

The game was released digitally on January 2021 for PC, Xbox One, PS4 and Nintendo Switch, and had a physical release in Europe for PS4 and Switch in September. In November, the game received PS5 and Xbox Series versions, thus being released in all current platforms. Sword of the Necromancer previously had a very successful Kickstarter campaign that raised over €200K with more than 5500 backers.

Grimorio of Games is currently working on Sword of the Necromancer’s sequel, Sword of the Necromancer: Revenant, which also had a successful Kickstarter campaign earlier this year. This sequel features 3D graphics, renewed combat mechanics, customizable monster AI and a city building mode.
