The Auckland-based (Australia) indie games developer Battle Drones are today super happy and thrilled to announce that they have just released a time-limited demo for their upcoming top-down shooter “Battle Drones: Red Rock Resistance” (the said demo is available right now for PC via Steam as a part of the 2023 February edition of Steam Next Fest, which ends on February 12th).

For the first time, this thrilling rootin’ tootin’ drone shootin’ game can be played from 10 am Pacific Time (6pm GMT / 12 noon Eastern), when a demo will launch on Steam as a part of its Next Fest event.

To celebrate, Battle Drones has announced a brand-new cinematic trailer and a series of livestreams that all land this week.

Players will meet enigmatic drone salesman Solomon Burgundy, who will help them build a formidable battle drone with an arsenal of weaponry. These weapons and upgrades will be vital in fighting the hordes of AI-piloted drones from an ominous megacorporation.

This slick game was inspired by the golden days of Call of Duty Zombies and infused with elements from Soulstone Survivors. Players will be kept on their toes and coming back for more as they explore new areas while fighting ever more difficult enemies. Competition will be fierce as players challenge each other’s high scores to reach the top of the leaderboard.

The launch of Battle Drones : Red Rock Resistance is fast approaching, but in the meantime this is a huge opportunity to see more of the game, and hear more from the developers, at next week’s Steam Next Fest!

The characters and world of Battle Drones are another area which will draw in players. Telling the mad-cap story of the aforementioned Solomon, Elord Odor (owner of a shady and mysterious drone corporation) and the strange aliens that have begun showing up in New Mexico, Battle Drones is a funny and entertaining title that players will enjoy experiencing in the new demo.

As the story unfolds the player wont have their gameplay interrupted by cutscenes that would slow down the action – they’ll learn about the lore through clues hidden in the environment and the items they collect.

The new playable demo of Battle Drones will launch at 10am Pacific Time (6pm GMT / 12 noon Eastern) today as part of Steam’s Next Fest event. A brand-new cinematic trailer is available now, and developer live streams will be running all week on Battle Drones’ Steam page.

Battle Drones: Red Rock Resistance is a 3D top-down shooter set in a reimagined version of Red Rock, New Mexico. It’s the post-drone war era, a supposed time of peace. The player will find themselves in the desert equipped with nothing more than a military drone, a handgun and a knife to fend off the incoming waves of hostile drones sent from the evil megacorporation A-EYE. Luckily, famous drone parts salesman Solomon Burgundy has a shop nearby! Solomon will help players customize their drones, weapons and abilities to help them survive, unlock the secrets of the mysterious aliens, and to achieve the highest score.
