Since its launch on Steam Early Access, the cel-shaded FPS rogue-lite RPG Gunfire Reborn has become an early hit with fans with its gun-toting cat characters, landing it in Steam’s most popular games list.

Today developer Duoyi Interactive Limited has announced the latest updates arriving for their FPS/RPG roguelite “Gunfire Reborn” including new weapons, elite monsters, occult scrolls, and updates to main-line levels.

In Gunfire Reborn players come across a variety of weaponry with each weapon possessing random inscriptions providing a variety of buffs. With the latest game update, two new weapons the Crimson Firescale and Glimmering will be available for players to have a chance to loot throughout their randomly-generated adventures.

The Crimson Firescale recharges a firebomb upon critical hit and is capable of launching multiple fireballs simultaneously for the cost of 5 firescale bombs. The Glimmering will attach itself to enemies and explode after a short period of time.

Along with a wide range of weapons to choose from, players can also be boosted by occult scrolls, which activate a variety of buffs, to help them face the myriad of enemies that they encounter.

Five new occult scrolls have arrived in Gunfire Reborn, each with a unique buff. From the Thunderscreen which deals lightning damage to surrounding enemies to the Coins of Life which can prevent fatal damage in exchange for copper coins, the newest occult scrolls will shake up combat and give players the advantage they need to best the most challenging foes.
Featuring procedurally generated levels, players will face different enemies of varying difficulty with each playthrough.

Three new elite monsters have arrived for the most skilled gunslingers to take on. First, the Elite Beetles are mutated horned beetles capable of absorbing evil energy, making them humongous in size and resilient to attacks.

Second are the Elite Yakasha lead various Yakasha from the seas and will send wave after wave after players. Finally, the Elite Arsonists are nimble outlaws who prefer poison over fire and will launch massive waves of poison.

The latest update is live now for gunslingers to explore in Gunfire Reborn which includes updated main-line levels and vaults. Gunfire Reborn is available now on Steam Early Access. Players can look forward to additional content and game updates throughout the game’s time in Early Access.
