The Talavera de la Reina-based (Spain) indie games developer Aeternum Game Studios are today very happy and excited to announce that the full version (v1.0) of their frenetic Roguelite/metroidvania/RPG “Summum Aeterna“, is coming to PC (via Steam) and consoles (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and the Nintendo Switch) via digital stores on September 14th, 2023.

Summum Aeterna has been in Early Access since last summer on Steam, continuously receiving content updates and performance improvements ever since. One of its strengths as a Roguelite title that differentiates it from the rest of the games in the genre is the so-called “seed mechanic”.

The worlds are created from seeds through a system that allows the player to generate adventures at their will, adding, removing and modifying different elements that condition the world.

This is why each new adventure is different from the previous one, causing the enemy behavior, the map size, the setting and many other factors to differ with each new run. The title takes this customization further with the inclusion of influences, an even more radical mechanic that makes each new run even more chaotic and unique than the last.

Summum Aeterna features a frantic combat system, as the developers pointed out in their previous showcase. The variety of weapons and customization options allow each player to adapt to their own combat style, being able to choose between swords, scythes, pistols, as well as numerous gems that enhance the combat capacity of each weapon.

This will be of great help to defeat the powerful bosses and enemies that await us in each germinated world. With this title, Aeternum Game Studios carries the definition of challenge to a whole new level.

One of the programmers already confirmed it “Summum Aeterna is a game of probability… and the probability is that you will die”. It’s up to the player to configure a build that allows them to reach the end of each world and get the final reward.

This launch version promises improvements over the currently available Early Access including a new world and the final boss of the game, the most challenging of all those existing in the Aeterna universe according to its creators. In addition, the player will be able to enjoy their solo games or access to compete with their friends online through the cross-platform leaderboard.

September 14 of this year is set as the release date for Summum Aeterna. PC players and Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox consoles will once again be able to put themselves in the shoes of the King of Darkness, this time in Roguelite format, and enjoy the enormous variety of situations that this fast-paced game offers. A simultaneous and multiplatform launch for a title that guarantees countless hours of fun. Mark the date on your calendars!
