“WRATH: Aeon of Ruin” v1.0 is now available for PC

“WRATH: Aeon of Ruin“, the dark fantasy horror FPS powered by the original Quake engine from publishers 3D Realms and Fulqrum Publishing and developers KillPixel Games and Slipgate Ironworks, embarks on a path of carnage as it exits Early Access and debuts version 1.0 on PC via Steam, Epic Game Store, and GOG today. Fans can expect updates on the console versions later in 2024.

WRATH’s 1.0 release introduces a new hub, three boss battles capping each episode, 3 new weapons, 4 new enemies, 2 new Sigils, and 5 new Artifacts, and a fully implemented story for players to experience.

Alongside the new content, WRATH 1.0 features a host of additional updates and improvements, including a new tutorial introducing gameplay mechanics and the game’s world. This is in addition to numerous tweaks to enemy AI and game performance.

Awaken as the Outlander among the ruins of what was once The Old World. Follow the guidance of a mysterious being known as the Shepherd of Wayward Souls and begin the bloody mission of hunting down the remaining Guardians of the Old World, leaving a trail of death and destruction behind until every last one of them has met their end.

Mow down hordes of enemies with nine distinct weapons, each sporting immense firepower and versatility. Lock and load a double-barreled shotgun to blow through foes. Use the Ruination Blade to slash and slice past adversaries, or switch it up with biological weapons – like the Retcher, transforming disgusting cysts into deadly projectiles. WRATH’s fast-paced FPS combat channels old-school shooters with a satisfying gameplay loop.

Navigate corrupted temples, mystic forests, and decaying ruins linked by WRATH’s hub world on a sprawling adventure. Explore every inch of each map and uncover valuable treasures hidden in every corner. Stock up on armaments before deadly firefights with monsters lurking in the shadows, each encounter more brutal than the last. Aggressive gameplay is rewarded in a world of grim realities.

WRATH embodies the juggernauts that came before, paying homage to classics like QUAKE, while maintaining its own identity. Veterans of the genre and newcomers alike will find an expertly designed old-school FPS, encompassed in an ambiance of gore and an adrenaline-pumping heavy metal soundtrack.

WRATH: Aeon of Ruin is available now on PC via Steam, Epic Game Store, and GOG for $24.99, with a 15% discount applied during the first week. Console versions will launch at a later date in 2024.
