The video game publishers V Publishing and indie games developers Two Star Games are today very proud and pleased to announce that their grim papercraft horror/adventure game “Night in Riverager” (which is a prologue to “My Beautiful Paper Smile”) is coming to PC on February 2nd, 2021 via Steam and itch.io.

“Night In Riverager” is a free, standalone horror short; the story of a masked hunter in a dark, monochrome world and setting the stage for things to come.

Things are stirring in the shadows, but tonight you must travel across the river and into the King’s domain. What part will you play in the story unfolding around you?

Designed as a spoiler-free introduction to the world of My Beautiful Paper Smile, Night In Riverager acts as both a demo, and as a compelling horror short in its own right. It tells an all-new story that touches on familiar locations and characters, making it both an ideal starting point for new players interested in the series, and a must-play for MBPS fans wanting to see more of its dark and surreal world and its inhabitants.

For those intrigued by this brief peek into the bleak and harrowing papercraft world of My Beautiful Paper Smile, the next three (of a planned four) chapters are available now via Steam Early Access. Later this summer, the game will exit early access with the release of the final, climactic chapter. Discover the true powers at play in this strange realm, confront the Authorities and seek the power of your own name in a world ruled by mad monarchs, monsters and mysterious forces beyond.
