The indie games developer Project Handsoap today announced with great excitement and delight that they have just released a free playable Steam demo (the demo is a part of the Steam Summer Festival 2021 edition) for their upcoming gritty and atmospheric first-person horror/adventure game “The Rocket Stop Incident” (the game is coming to PC via Steam in late 2021).

Welcome to your first shift at Rocket Stop! The team is so excited to have you on board. Isolated alone on a quiet, small town highway, you’ll be in charge of cleaning the floors, refilling the coffee machine, and ensuring company property survives the night unscathed.

Explore a surreal Twin Peaks-esque setting, shrouded with the chilling quiet of an empty, local gas station. As the past comes alive, and the mundane dissolves into the impossible, players’ resolve will be tested as reality splinters apart.

Just remember to lock the doors on your way out.

Rocket Stop Incident is a first-person horror experience where the player is thrust into a terrifying and darkly unsettling world. Unravelling the mysteries of this strange setting through a series of environmental puzzles, players will be exposed to a heart-pounding horror that rips the carpet of surface reality from under their feet at any given moment.

Grant Bernstein, 3D Artist said, “Project Handsoap is a two-person team with a passion for indie games and intense atmospheric horror. The experimental gameplay, unpredictable story, and bizarre setting of The Rocket Stop Incident are all inspired by multitudes of indie horror games that we loved playing. Greetings from Rocket Stop! Enjoy working the night shift at a local Rocket Stop gas station. Keep the floors clean, check on the gas pumps, and drink lots of coffee. But this mundane night of work quickly becomes much stranger.
