The Ontario-based (Canada) indie games developer Hyperthought Games today announced with great thrill and delight that their groundbreaking language learning gaming platform “Lingo Legend” is coming to iOS devices on March 15th, 2022.

“Lingo Legend” is designed to help language learners level up their skills by integrating language exercises into exciting video games, “Lingo Legend” solves one of the biggest challenges for learners: staying motivated long enough to achieve their goals.

Lingo Legend’s flagship game available at launch is Yorthwood – a card-battling RPG in which players build a deck, battle monsters, and explore a vibrant world. In combat, players draw ability cards and must answer language challenges to play them against a lineup of unique monsters with distinct strategies.

In addition to these completely unique mechanics, the sheer depth of Yorthwood’s gameplay is guaranteed to keep learners excited for their next session. Outside of combat, players can craft weapons, customize their camp, and complete an expansive storyline told through quirky characters and quests. Players will unravel the intricacies of a new language alongside the mysteries and monsters lurking within Yorthwood.

Lingo Legend comes with monthly challenges, player ranks, and leaderboards to encourage friendly competition and reward accountability among learners. The platform’s ever-growing library of games will each provide unique and fresh challenges in which players can compete in a unified, community-driven experience.
