The Beijing-based (China) indie games publisher Thermite Games and Guangzhou-based (China) indie games developer Memo Gogo, are today super happy and excited to announce that their hand-painted hidden object game “Sophia the Traveler“. is soon coming to PC via Steam.
Inspired by the renowned puzzle book series “Where’s Wally?”, Sophia the Traveler offers an experience like no other, where every corner of the screen is a canvas waiting to be explored.
The game was presented to press for the first time at gamescom 2023 and can be discovered through a demo now available on Steam.
Sophia the Traveler is developed by a loving couple who have never actually been to Venice in person, but managed to recreate the entire city of Venice based on travel books and information from Google Maps. Check out this delightful trailer of the game, dubbed by their lovely daughter.
In this charming hidden object adventure, you’ll embark on a journey through intricate, hand-painted landscapes teeming with life and color. Your mission? To find hundreds of distinctive figures and items, each with their own unique animation and endearing dubbing.
Sophia the Traveler painstakingly recreates every canal, every picturesque bridge, and every enchanting alleyway to capture the essence of this historic city. From the iconic landmarks to the hidden Easter eggs, you will find yourself immersed in the stunning and detailed portrayal of Venice’s unique and timeless beauty.
The game boasts 10 distinct stages, featuring an extensive array of assets that breathe life into this virtual Venice. With over 1800 meticulously crafted character assets, more than 300 sets of character animations, and in excess of 100 sequence animations and sound effects, the game offers an immersive experience like no other.
It not only ensures a whimsical and engaging experience for players of all ages but also presents a fun challenge due to the sheer size of the stage maps. Notably, it showcases over 100 European buildings, including 8 iconic Venetian landmarks, and nearly 300 sound effects meticulously integrated to bring Venice to life.
