Press release:
Sweden / May 5, 2022.
The Sweden-based indie games developer Studio Centurion (a two-man development team) today announced with great joy and thrill that their innovative multiplayer RTS game “Line War”, is now available for PC via Steam for $19.99 with a 25% launch discount.

“Line War” takes inspiration from classics in the RTS genre plus board games like Axis & Allies, and adds an innovative movement system that does away with tedious micromanagement.

RTS fans are already taking notice: since its demo release in February, over 30,000 matches have been played!

Line War is a multiplayer RTS that puts players in a procedurally generated world with simple to learn, difficult to master mechanics that will enthrall RTS fans old and new. Instead of going back and forth between buildings or commanding groups of units, Line War makes things more streamlined by an innovative visual command system.

With three different command types–point, line, and path–players can customize their strategy to fit their playstyle, while the game’s sophisticated AI executes those choices. Draw lines across the battlefield to move units, form defensive lines, engage enemies and conquer territories. Line War’s visual system allows for multiple commands to be carried out simultaneously, since the units will continue to respond and follow their paths long past the initial execution. This means more time for strategy, less micromanagement!

Line War also switches things up by eliminating the time consuming process of managing an abundance of resources. Only two resources, energy and capital, are required to build and maintain structures. Planning ahead is key to success: survey the battlefield and make strategic decisions to decide what to do and where to go next.

Players have a vast terrain to work with–build and expand across plains, forest, mountains, and seas to gain the upper hand. Each has their own distinct advantages and drawbacks.

A multiplayer experience at its core, Line War offers players a board game-like experience where they challenge friends (or make new ones with matchmaking), refine strategies, and play again and again.

Those looking for a solo experience can play in the sandbox mode, where you can take on your greatest challenge yet: yourself! Line War features a simple, user-friendly UI with retro-inspired lo-fi graphics that enhance the detail of the gameplay.

Line War is now available for purchase on Steam! To follow development news and updates, join the ranks on Discord and check out the official website.

Features:
Draw Commands. Create movement and attack commands by drawing directly onto the map, giving players flexible control over unit actions.
Replay Again & Again. Randomly generate asymmetrical worlds to ensure no match or strategy is ever the same.
Select Your Starting Location. Choose where to begin in each world in an innovative and fair “picking phase” to gain your initial territory.
Focus on Strategy: Plan and strategize to achieve success on the battlefield. Actions Per Minute (APM) aren’t crucial for success in Line War – strategy and planning are.
Conquer Territory. Expand your influence and acquire resources through territory control. The more land you have, the more you’ll be able to build.
Manage Resources. Produce energy with refineries and power plants for sustained mobility of tanks, air force, and naval vessels.
Control One Army. Line War features a single traditional, recognizable army to ensure the game’s focus is on balance and strategy.
Build. Build. Build. From barracks to refineries, ports to power plants, choose from dozens of unique structures. Build towns, cities, industries, and trade routes to earn resources and expand your forces.
