Press release:
Barcelona, Spain – May 15th, 2024.
It’s been five months since we announced Citadelum, a strategy/ city building game set in Ancient Rome with a mythology twist, and we want to highlight how the game is shaping up, what it is about and where are we going creatively.
This video focuses on the city building mechanics and artistic decisions that have impacted the graphic appearance of the game. We want to remind you, everything is captured in game, and still work in progress, so expect even more polishing when the game is released, later this year.
The new Citadelum trailer features some core game elements such as
Gathering and refining resources.
Construction levels, scaffolding.
Water extraction and distribution through aqueducts.
Entertainment, population, military training.
New redefined UI.
Gods in Citadelum
Roman gods are fundamental to the gameplay experience. Visiting the Pantheon and then watching Jupiter, Mars or Minerva interacting with your settlement is something epic, that adds a new layer to the city building core and the strategy system.
During development there are shifts and jumps that you can clearly see on our gods, who look much more realistic. We went from the original concept art to human proportions and aspect, but still with “godly” features. See the comparison below.
Remember Citadelum is still work in progress. And there are some things we will show later, such as the historical setting, city defense, new biomes, trading routes, map exploration and battles with your mighty legions.
Citadelum will be released in 2024 for PC. WISHLIST NOW ON STEAM.
