JanduSoft is pleased to announce that Dark Alley, a new detective adventure developed by solo developer CheesecakeGames, is out today on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, featuring Xbox Play Anywhere support, allowing you to continue your investigation on either your console or PC.

In Dark Alley, you’ll step into the shoes of Detective Thomas Bennett, who has been sent to Kyoto to investigate the disappearance of British detective Edward Hale. What initially seemed like a straightforward case soon turns into a nightmare. From the quiet temples and narrow streets of Gion to hidden clubs and traditional ryokans, Bennett must follow a trail of clues pointing directly to the Yakuza… although there’s much more to this case than meets the eye.

Dark Alley is a cinematic detective adventure focused on exploration, observation, and storytelling. Getting to know the different characters and forming alliances will be crucial to figuring out who you can trust as you explore Kyoto.

Key Features

Experience a fully self-contained mystery from beginning to end, carefully paced and designed to be completed in a single memorable adventure.
Discover beautifully crafted locations inspired by modern Japan, including Gion’s lantern-lit streets, Nishiki Market, hidden temples, bamboo forests, traditional ryokans and much more.
Examine objects, question witnesses, take notes and revisit old evidence. Progress comes from paying attention.
Progress naturally through exploration, conversations and environmental puzzles designed to keep the investigation flowing from one discovery to the next.
Every person you encounter has their own motivations. Build uneasy alliances, question suspects and decide who deserves your trust.
Bennett isn’t the kind of detective who kicks down doors. He watches, listens, asks uncomfortable questions… and usually annoys the right people.
