The Pittsburgh-based (PA, the US) indie games publisher and developer 8-Bit Legit and indie/retro games developer KHAN Games, today announced with great delight and thrill that their escape room puzzler “NEScape” is coming to Xbox (via the Microsoft Store) and the Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo Eshop) on January 13th, 2023!

It’s you against the clock in an intense race to escape before time runs out. NEScape! appoints you as the hero in an all-new puzzle game destined to drive you to your wit’s end.

The game, originally released on an NES cartridge, combines the look and feel of an authentic retro game with the modern-day elements of an escape room.

You will need to assemble the clues and connect the dots in order to overcome the challenges and see what lies on the other side of the door.

Sounds legit, right? 8-bit Legit, to be precise. Bringing authentic 8-bit games to places like Nintendo Switch and Xbox, 8-bit Legit, the publishing arm of Retrotainment Games and Mega Cat Studios, is proud to announce the latest addition to their catalog.

With pre-orders starting at midnight on January 5, 2023 and retail releases to follow on January 13, 2023, gamers will get to experience what veteran NES developer KHAN Games has cooked up for them on the Nintendo Entertainment System.

Gameplay in NEScape! allows you to track your success by seeing the room change over time, giving you a first-person perspective in this immersive brain teaser. Hanley was able to capture the feel of being trapped inside an escape room littered with seemingly disconnected objects, creating puzzles and mystery in abundance.

There is a typewriter on a table… a hair dryer… an old grandfather clock sitting silently. What else is hiding in the room, and how do all of the pieces connect?
