São Paulo, August 26, 2026 – The Pampas are back, now in the palm of your hand. A new mobile adventure set in the universe of Gaucho and the Grassland. The title travels back in time to tell the story of Gaucho’s father, the first Guardian of the Pampas, long before the events of the original game.

Alongside his wife, Prenda, the new protagonist awaits one of the most important moments of his life: the birth of his son. But when a mysterious force begins corrupting nature, leaving farms and communities in ruins, he must embrace his role as Guardian, help the region recover, and uncover what lies behind the evil spreading across the Pampas.

The new adventure maintains the inspiration from the southern Brazilian culture and Brazilian folklore that defined Gaucho and the Grassland, while offering an experience developed specifically for mobile. Exploration, resource gathering, crafting, and restoration are at the heart of progression: as players explore different regions, they find materials, craft tools, rebuild structures, and restore areas consumed by corruption, gradually bringing the world back to life.

Before Gaucho, there was another Guardian.

Gaucho Origins serves as a prequel to Gaucho and the Grassland, going back to the origins of this universe to tell the story of the original game’s protagonist’s father.

Long before the events of Gaucho and the Grassland, his father was the first Guardian of the Pampas. Alongside his wife, Prenda, he must protect his family, help his community, and face the corruption threatening the harmony of the region, all while they await the birth of the one who will one day carry on his legacy.

Despite expanding the story introduced in Gaucho and the Grassland, Gaucho Origins was developed as a standalone experience. This means new players can begin their journey directly on mobile, meet its characters, discover its world, and experience the complete story without having played the original title. For those who already know Gaucho and the Grassland, the new adventure expands the universe by revealing events that took place before the main game, while introducing new characters, discoveries, and figures inspired by Brazilian folklore.

From the Pampas to Mobile

The journey of Gaucho to mobile devices began after the project was selected for the Google Play Indie Games Fund, an initiative that supports independent studios across Latin America. Following the selection, Epopeia Games partnered with Izyplay to develop the experience for Android devices.

What began as an adaptation project evolved into something much bigger throughout the partnership. Izyplay’s experience with the mobile platform helped transform Gaucho Origins into a standalone game, developed to tell the events preceding Gaucho and the Grassland and designed from the ground up for a new way to play. With adapted controls and shorter play sessions, the experience retains the exploration, progression, and storytelling that define the original universe.

A Premium Experience!

Gaucho Origins will be available for $3.99 USD, offering a complete premium experience through a one-time purchase. With no ads, microtransactions, energy systems, timers, or paid progression blocks, players will have access to the full campaign from the very beginning.

The title will also be 100% playable offline, allowing the entire adventure to be enjoyed without an internet connection. With approximately 12 hours of gameplay, the experience was designed as a complete single-player journey, with a beginning, middle, and end.
