The Austin-based (Texas, the US) indie games publisher Devolver Digital and Oregon-based (the US) indie games developer doinksoft, are today super thrilled and happy to announce that their retro-like noir-punk side-scrolling action game “Gunbrella“, is now available for PC (via Steam) and the Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo Eshop) for €14.79.

For gumshoes with a few more cases under their belt, The Gunbrella Deluxe Edition bundles the game with an exclusive digital comic written by Maurizio Furini and Federico Chemello, and the 53-track OST composed by Doinksoft’s Britt Brady and Hyperstepp for €24.54.

The Gunbrella digital comic features 30 pages of full colour illustrations by artists Alberto Massaggia, Giulia Giacomino, and Genny Ferrari. The three stories collected in this short anthology delve into the past of the games’ most mysterious villains and offer a glimpse of the crude truth about their ambitions and obsessions.

Engage in side-scrolling action combat while exploring a diverse assortment of locations and interrogating bizarre characters. Use the Gunbrella to glide, swing, dash, and dive, and gather scrap and spare parts to trade for different munitions and upgrades.

But mastering the Gunbrella is only the tip of the iceberg, as your hard-nosed investigation soon becomes entangled with the inner workings of a creepy cabal of ghouls and gangsters, cops and cultists, and the fallout of corporate exploitation.

Gunbrella is a gritty side-scrolling adventure set in a world dependent on a rapidly diminishing natural resource. Fill the rain-soaked boots of a gruff woodsman on a quest for revenge, entering an unfamiliar town armed only with the titular Gunbrella, a high-caliber firearm that doubles as an umbrella. Your hard-nosed investigation soon becomes entangled with the inner workings of a creepy cabal of ghouls and gangsters, cops and cultists, and the fallout of corporate exploitation.
