SAN DIEGO – November 12, 2019 – Yacht Club Games and Scarlet Moon Records are pleased to present the eighth album in the Billboard-charting Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies series with Prescription for Sleep: Shovel Knight.

This volume has been crafted under the careful guidance of Yacht Club Games, featuring GENTLE LOVE’s unique brand of jazzy lullabies to sleep, relax, and study to. The album features 19 tracks from Shovel Knight and its expansions, including the highly-anticipated King of Cards, due out next month.

GENTLE LOVE, which is comprised of Metal Gear Solid and Bayonetta series composer Norihiko Hibino on saxophone and Etrian Odyssey performer AYAKI on piano, also offers up an original theme inspired by the world of Shovel Knight titled “A New Dawn,” making for 20 tracks total.

“GENLTE LOVE’s Norihiko Hibino and Shovel Knight composer Jake Kaufman have a history of working together,” comments producer Jayson Napolitano.

“They’ve developed a huge respect for one another over this time, and I wanted to give Hibino-san the opportunity to pay the ultimate tribute to Jake’s masterwork. We would have done it sooner, but we wanted to include every story expansion, so here we are! Please enjoy it, and know you’re getting a sneak peek at King of Cards before the game is even out!”

Fans will also want to get their hands on the limited edition CD including two discs of music, foil print on the cover, four character stickers, and a 20-page booklet with commentary, a performer interview, and comics illustrated by artist Maximo Vitaly Lorenzo. The CD version will be limited to just 1,000 copies.

Prescription for Sleep: Shovel Knight will feature key themes from across the game and its expansions.

Prescription for Sleep: Game Music Lullabies has enjoyed seven album releases including two compilation volumes (the second of which includes an additional Shovel Knight track not on this collection), three more dedicated to Secret of Mana, UNDERTALE, and Celeste, respectively, a compilation of battle themes turned into lullabies, and a charity EP in honor of late Nintendo President Satoru Iwata.
