Independent developer Jay Tholen and noted balloon artists Devolver Digital today announced with great thrill and delight that their point and click hugventure “Dropsy“, is now available for the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo Eshop.

Originally released in 2015, “Dropsy” is a non-traditional take on the classic point and click adventure starring a perpetually carefree clown as he explores a richly detailed world full of colourful characters and sinister secrets, doling out hugs along the way.

Rather than lead players on a singular narrative path, Dropsy’s open world format leaves them free to choose which avenues of adventure they want to explore, piecing the puzzles and story together in any order. This newly updated version features an additional questline and freshly squeezed hug puzzles on both Switch & PC.

During the quest to clear his name after a deadly circus fire, Dropsy will encounter a peculiar cast of characters to communicate with via his unique emoji-based expressions. Challenging puzzles and complex conundrums stand between Dropsy and the secrets behind his shrouded past. With clever thinking, tender hugs, and the help of his animal friends, Dropsy can overcome evil and win the hearts of the people around him.

About Jay Tholen:
I started making games and honing my pixel art skills as a kid in the late 1990s with early game making programs like Klik & Play and The Games Factory. After dropping out of high school I stopped making games, took a series of telemarketing jobs, and tried to start a prog rock band. In 2015 I finally accomplished something: I made a critically acclaimed point and click adventure named Dropsy, created collaboratively with A Jolly Corpse and released in 2015. Soon after, I moved out of my dad’s house, married a German girl named Katie, and moved to her country to be with her. Also, I am a Christian. Well, bye.
