Lisbon, Portugal (October 26, 2026) – Outcast Tales, the free-to-play RPG where intraparty squabbles can cause as much trouble as the perilous wasteland itself, has just launched on Steam.

Developed by Hardlane Studio and published by Inner Pocket, the story-rich adventure sends players into a post-apocalyptic frontier in search of riches. They’ll lead a misfit crew through turn-based battles and tough choices that could leave their party fighting for glory, fighting for their lives, or just fighting each other.

In this tactical roleplaying adventure, you’ll discover that personality matters just as much as class and abilities. Assemble a three-person crew from a diverse roster of wasteland wanderers, each with their own skills and powers, then give each hero a personality type and see what happens when they’re thrown together. Your support-based Technomancer might make a fine Pacifist, but a Pacifist Mercenary? In Outcast Tales, there are no wrong answers, just unintended consequences.

Set out into the wilderness, and you’ll soon encounter the unpredictable inhabitants of this desolate dustbowl. You might be able to talk your way out of trouble, but it’s just as likely that someone in your party will say the wrong thing, leading to a turn-based tactical tussle. Upgradeable skills and powerful synergies unlocked through different party compositions will give you the edge in combat and send those miscreants packing.

The path to glory is paved with unexpected encounters and more interpersonal drama than a daytime talk show. The choices you make will shape your story, for better or worse, opening up surprising solutions to problems or giving your band of misfits even more reason to hate each other. When the beef boils over, don’t count on your crew having each other’s backs. Has anyone got Oprah’s number?

Outcast Tales Key Features:

Pick your post-apocalyptic posse: Craft your crew from a choice of characters, each with their own skills and abilities (or should that be insuffer-abilities?). Choose a personality for each hero and experiment with party combinations that could lead to glory or leave your squad at each other’s throats.

Deep tactical battles: When talking fails, settle the score the old-fashioned way. Master turn-based combat and upgrade your skills to give your misfits a fighting chance.

Bicker or bond: During each run, the choices you make affect your story and your crew’s relationships. Encourage a blossoming romance, or fuel a seething rivalry; just remember that your decisions will have a very real impact on both the battlefield and out in the wasteland.
