Selecta Play (the video game publishing arm of the audiovisual distributor SelectaVisión) and hako life (a Japanese video game developer) are today very happy and excited to announce that their poignant pixel art puzzler/adventure game “Unreal Life” is now available for the Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo Eshop in EU.

“Unreal Life”, single-handedly developed by hako life, has achieved tremendous recognition for its Japan release on Nintendo Switch in May 2020, and now, Selecta Play brings localised versions (English, German, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese) to Europe for Nintendo Switch users to experience the distinctive puzzles and deep, fascinating story.

“Unreal Life” is the story of her journey.

Unreal Life takes players on a journey with intriguing puzzles, interesting characters and a unique atmosphere. Starring Hal, a girl who lost her memories, can only but remember one thing, the name of her teacher – ‘Miss Sakura’. In setting out to find Miss Sakura, the girl can view the memories of the things she touches whilst travelling through a wonderfully crafted mysterious town, looking to recover her lost memories. Aided by a talking, AI-equipped traffic light “195”, offering to help her, Hal looks to compare memories of the past with the present to find hints and solve puzzles.

Personal Game developer / Pixel artist. Started developing video games with the mobile game “COLOR FINDER”. Quit his job and started working as a freelance game developer in order to finish “Unreal Life”. Beautifully drawn in 2D Pixel Art. In 2021, he won the Newcomer’s Award at the Japan Media Arts Festival, one of the most prestigious awards in the Art world. He is currently working intensively on a new game.
