Press release:
Today, indie publishing label Fellow Traveller and developer 14 Hours Productions revealed their newest assignment, Burn-9, a political spy thriller in the tradition of Hideo Kojima and Tom Clancy. You’re not the agent in the field, you’re the operator in the chair.
Your instructions are simple, but by no means easy: guide the last survivor of an elite black-ops team in a desperate attempt to salvage a top-secret mission gone horribly wrong. As the conduit between the military’s leadership and your elite agent, every piece of intel you obtain marks a crucial decision. What will you choose to share? Which secrets are best kept hidden? Who can you truly trust?
Your field agent, Dodo, will face impossible odds and danger in every corner. Be her eyes in the sky by tapping into cutting-edge surveillance and intelligence systems to detect threats and guide her through hostile encounters in real time. One missed detail can spell disaster, so stay sharp. From where you’re sitting, information is your greatest asset.
Whatever they’re hiding is buried under layers of security and secrecy. Luckily for you, the military has plenty of toys to help you break in. By infiltrating their systems, you can hack their network to disable cameras, breach locked doors, and extract secrets that were never meant to be revealed. Uncovering intel is half the battle, and the impact will have a ripple effect for years to come.
You wanted a chance to prove yourself, so show us what kind of person you are. After all, calling the shots means you’ll have the hardest choices. You may see things that you don’t agree with, you may even question your role in this mission. These matters are trivial. Your order is to complete the mission, to do whatever it takes no matter the cost.
Burn-9 will be released on PC via Steam in 2026. A demo will be available via the Steam page as part of Steam Next Fest (June 15 – June 22). You can find a full press kit for Burn-9, including key art, trailers, and screenshots, here.
