The Oceanside-based (California, the US) indie games publisher V Publishing and Indianapolis-based (IN, the US) indie games developer Boomer’s Workshop, are today very glad and thrilled to announce that they have just released the 1.2 update for their retro-like ARPG “Sanctuary Saga” (the said update is available right now for PC via Steam).

“Sanctuary Saga” launched back on March 8th and has invited countless players to step into the unique and dangerous lands of the Untamed Wilds to conquer its many challenges. The game’s newest build offers some brand new updates and changes to improve upon players’ adventures in the game.

“Sanctuary Saga” is an homage to classic RPGs with turn-based combat and roguelite elements. Join a band of guild members as they quest through the unexplored reaches of the Untamed Wilds. Explore four unique biomes, take on dozens of challenging enemies including bosses and mini-bosses and keep your guild members happy as they embark on this journey.

Developer Kevin A Prothero had this to say about the launch of Sanctuary Saga’s 1.2 update, “During release week, the community provided some awesome feedback for Sanctuary Saga. In v1.2, we’ve incorporated changes based on this feedback centering around two major areas: get the player into the action faster and ensure game progression is rewarding. We felt this was also a great time to add in some quality of life changes. We think the early game is a much better experience and are excited to see what players think of the update!”

As mentioned, players that jump into the 1.2 build can expect adjustments to early game progression including the ability to skip past the prologue to get into the action quicker. Additionally, the Skill Progression System has been reworked which should help players overall and encourage more varied party compositions to keep battles feeling fresh. That is, of course, until enemies start to bring their own surprises into the mix!

The update also includes various quality of life improvements including, most notably, an update to Expedition Maps. The Maps will now show players where new paths have opened up and when within biomes, players will never see a repeat map until they’ve completed every map at least once. Sanctuary Saga is available right now on Steam as a base version for $14.99 and a Deluxe Edition for $19.99 which includes unique DLC skins for the characters as well as the game’s rhythmic soundtrack.
