The Leamington Spa-based (Warwickshire, the UK) indie games publisher 2P Games and China-based indie games developer Gouhong Studio, are today very happy and excited to announce that their retro puzzle/platformer/RPG “Manifest Destiny“, is now available for PC via Steam.

The game is now available on Steam for 4.99 $/4.99 € with a 10% off launch discount during the first 2 weeks.

In Manifest Destiny, players take on the role of a struggling game developer who escapes into the only place he still feels in control: the game world he created. But as the lines between the virtual and the real begin to blur, he must confront what it means to be a “creator”—and whether redemption can be found through code, art, and music.

Manifest Destiny lets players use actual game dev skills to overcome challenges. Programming alters logic and creates openings; Art reshapes de environment; and Music influences the emotions and decisions of NPCs.

This unconventional skillset drives both puzzle-solving and combat, allowing for creative approaches to each level. At the same time, every action in the game feeds into a Good & Evil system, where morality directly impacts the story, unlocking multiple paths and endings. Players can fight their way through enemies, help those in need, or manipulate outcomes through more subtle means.

Manifest Destiny reflects Gouhong Studio’s own turbulent journey during development. Created at a time of personal and professional struggle, the game explores themes of burnout, lost dreams, and the fragile boundary between fiction and reality.

ABOUT GOUHONG STUDIO
The Chinese solo developer behind Manifest Destiny, a narrative pixel-art game that began development in early 2023. After releasing an earlier project (Rat Rat) with little success, the developer left his job and faced several personal and financial setbacks before focusing fully on Manifest Destiny. Drawing from those experiences, he crafted a story-rich game about persistence, creativity, and finding meaning through game development.
