17th April, 2019 – Danish development team Hello John is excited to announce that its sandbox builder, “Mechanic Miner“, is launching into Steam Early Access on Thursday, May 22nd.

Construct fantastical, mechanical, steam-powered machines, collect resources and acquire new technologies to help you survive a hostile alien planet.

Dig deep and mine your creativity reserves to build a fleet of steampunk machines, using them to pass deadly terrain, protect you from the elements, and stomp terrestrial squid and other malformed monstrosities.

Bore into the earth with piston-powered circular saws, take to the depths with a submarine, soar through the air with balloons, or stomp overground with a clockwork spiderbot – your imagination is the only limit.

Well, your imagination, your will to survive, and your innate ability to source the required components. Are you ingenious enough to create the craftiest of contraptions?

With over 50 physically-simulated building parts (and more to come), player creations will be as varied as the challenges they face.

Everyone must come up with their own solutions to break down impassable boulders, cross poisonous swamplands, and defeat terrifying bosses, creating fanciful stories to tell at dinner parties as you go.

“Seven years ago I had an idea for a game about engineering and started working on it in my spare time. As it turned out I was unable to stop again.” said Finn Nielsen, Game Director and programmer at Hello John.

“The team and I wanted to give players the ability to make real, working machines and play with them in a real game world.

We were helped greatly by a quite exceptional community, which grew around the game once we put out a closed alpha. We are excited to launch into early access next month and look forward to develop the game with the help of our amazing community.”

Take part in the adventure of Story mode, where procedural environments ensure each run feels different. Tick off the challenges, scour the environments for resources, mine, fight, and research new technologies to prevail.

If you’re looking for a less structured challenge, Survival mode lets you see how long you can last on this deadly alien planet.

Or, if you’d rather be a mechanic without boundaries, Creative lets you build until your heart’s content, perhaps sharing those creations on the appropriately named Steam Workshop to help fellow builders in their own adventures.
