The Poland-based indie games developer/publisher Star Drifters and indie games developer 2Dynamic Games are today very happy to announce their sci-fi top-down action shooter/tower defense game “Lumencraft” (which currently is in development for PC).

After several months of hard work, we are ready to show the world our newest game. Together we have created a gem, which will soon be beautifully polished and presented to the players

There are a few things we would like to point out as we are particularly pleased with what they have turned into. First of all – 2Dynamic Engine. With a lot of effort and a set of original algorithms, 2Dynamic Games have transformed the open-source Godot Engine into a completely new tool. Thanks to this, every bit of terrain (pixels as we used to call them) can be destroyed and maps can be painted like in drawing software. Sounds pretty rad, doesn’t it? Then one more thing. Maps can be built out of 64 million pixels.

Creative games that bring fresh ideas to their genres are what we love the most at Star Drifters. Working on Lumencraft with such a talented team as 2Dynamic allows us to participate in an extremely interesting project with advanced and original technology. – Kuba Wójcik, Star Drifters

Another thing is the atmosphere of dread. We are telling you a story about the remains of humanity struggling without electricity and light. A story about the spark of hope. A story of a subterranean fight with the unknown. That’s why the lights are of such great importance. Danger lurking in the shadows, an illusory feeling of safety that light seemingly provides, a tantalizing shimmer of priceless Lumen – we got it all.

Lumencraft will debut on Steam Next Festival on October 1, 2021 in the form of a playable demo, which will be followed by a Steam Early Access launch in the coming months.

The game will also be displayed on EGX in London between October 7-10, 2021. Lumencraft is set to be released on PC first, but other platforms are also considered.
