Stockholm, Sweden — September 23, 2026 | Maximum Entertainment today announced a partnership with CMD Studios to launch Fallen Tear: The Ascension on consoles in 2027. Developed by CMD Studios, the story-driven Metroidvania will come to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

Fallen Tear: The Ascension casts players as Hira, a mysterious child fated to stand against ancient gods, in the high-fantasy world of Raoah. It blends the emotional weight and party-building of classic JRPGs with the freeform exploration of a Metroidvania and a touch of souls-like challenge, across a hand-drawn, interconnected world on the brink of collapse.

Fallen Tear: The Ascension features:

Fated Bonds: Recruit allies to fight and explore alongside you, each lending their own abilities to combat and traversal, and each changing how the world opens up.

Dynamic Combat: Slash, parry and dodge through Raoah’s guardians, customizing loadouts through deep skill trees and swapping tactics mid-battle.

A Hand-Drawn World: Explore a massive, interconnected world brought to life with hand-drawn animation and professional voice acting.

Between expeditions, players build and customize their home base, the Temple of Oras, filling it with the allies they have recruited and earning upgrades through minigames that reflect Hira’s own journey. With 22 potential companions, each carrying their own skills and story, no two paths through Raoah are bonded the same way.
