Press release:
August 18, 2026 – MicroProse and Wield Interactive are excited to announce that The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age is available now in Early Access on Steam, bringing players into a world where ancient civilizations are falling apart and survival matters more than conquest.
Launching alongside the game is a brand-new Early Access trailer, showcasing the story, settlement building, factions, and real-time battles awaiting players as they attempt to survive the end of an age.
The official sequel to The Fertile Crescent, The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age is a story-driven real-time strategy game set during the Late Bronze Age Collapse. Players follow Mutti and a band of warrior-farmers through the downfall of the ancient empires, gathering resources, building villages, raising armies, and fighting to protect their families and communities as the world around them becomes increasingly unstable.
Drought and famine put pressure on great civilizations. Trade routes fail. Unrest grows. The mysterious Sea Peoples bring destruction and chaos, while once-powerful empires struggle to maintain order.
Against this backdrop, classic RTS mechanics meet a narrative campaign in which the focus is not simply on expanding and conquering, but on enduring the collapse and carrying on.
The Early Access release includes 10 narrative-driven campaign missions spanning Acts 1 and 2, alongside skirmish and multiplayer for up to four players and four fully playable factions. It also introduces Tactical Pause, full save and load support for single-player modes, eight supported languages, and extensive improvements to AI, pathfinding, performance, UI, environments, and quality of life over the original game.
