Press release:
April 10, 2026 – The wait is over. Sol Cesto, the fast-paced tactical roguelite where every decision is a gamble, officially launches into Version 1.0 today on Steam. Developed by Géraud Zucchini and Chariospirale and published by Goblinz Publishing, the game leaves Early Access with a wealth of new content and major system overhauls for €13.99 / $13.99 / £11.99 and is available with a limited-time 33% launch discount.
Blending strategy, risk, and pure chaos, Sol Cesto challenges players to descend into a constantly shifting underground world in search of a long-lost sun. Each move is a calculated risk: choose your path across a combat grid, then face the unknown, monsters, treasure, traps, or something far worse. In this dark and unpredictable world, luck isn’t just a factor… It’s a system to be mastered.
Since entering Early Access on May 27, 2025, Sol Cesto has evolved hand-in-hand with its growing community, selling over 70,000 copies, amassing nearly 170,000 wishlists, and earning recognition as a finalist at the Pégases 2026 Awards for Best Indie Game and Best Game Design.
Now, Version 1.0 delivers the definitive game experience.
Players can dive deeper than ever before with a brand-new final boss and an additional hidden area lurking in the depths. Each of the game’s seven playable characters now features a unique ending, adding fresh narrative payoff to every run. Progression has been reworked and expanded, introducing new challenges that unlock characters and items, alongside a dedicated upgrade path for the Peasant, making the character more viable than ever.
Across the board, Sol Cesto has been refined and enhanced. A complete UI overhaul, new interactions, improved shops and systems, Steam achievements, and an atmospheric intro cinematic all elevate the experience while new visual additions and deeper item synergies open up even more strategic possibilities.
Full list of Version 1.0 launch content updates:
A new boss to conclude the adventure.
A new (mini) playable area, far, far deeper in the depths.
A different ending for each of the 7 playable characters.
Reworked meta progression, with challenges to unlock certain items and characters.
The Peasant now has his own progression branch.
Additional improvements to various items and shops (vendor, statues, dentures, etc.).
Steam achievements added.
A new introduction cinematic for the game.
A complete overhaul of the interface and options.
New visual additions for each character.
New interactions with items and special screens (such as selling items back into the well).
At its core, Sol Cesto remains a game of controlled chaos. With five distinct biomes, seven unique characters, and a vast array of magical items, ‘stone teeth’ that alter probabilities, and ‘metal teeth’ that unleash powerful curses, no two runs are ever the same. Each choice shapes your journey, and every mistake could be your last.
How far will you go when luck is the only thing standing between survival and oblivion?
Sol Cesto is available now on Steam with a 33% launch discount for a limited time. Dive in, master the odds, and descend into the unknown, or wishlist now to keep up with future updates.
