Press release:
Grand Rapids, Michigan – August 28th 2026 : FINJI, the award winning development studio behind Overland and Canabalt, and publisher of TUNIC, Night in the Woods, announced that Usual June will launch October 28th, 2026 on PC via Steam.

To celebrate the news, a new trailer has been released at the Awesome Indies Showcase powered by IGN at Gamescom.

Usual June is a third-person action-adventure game where players can fight monsters, talk to ghosts, and most importantly get to the bottom of a mystery threatening to obliterate an entire city.

Players will get to explore unique locations such as secret labs, buried tunnels, haunted observatories, abandoned train stations, and a beautiful but mysterious other world. Players will dive into arenas with fast, fluid, and expressive combat. While being able to dash, use super moves, dodge and parry, players will have to adapt to enemies and change June’s fighting style by equipping items and customizing loadout. As players get more XP and level up, they will gain access to new powers. But these powers come with a cost they will have to discover by themselves.

As neither the living nor the dead can save this city on their own, players will get to talk to a colourful cast of 25 characters to get to the bottom of what is happening in Fen Harbor, using the photographic memories of the dead, and the living’s ability to touch things to find out what is happening before all the ghosts disappear and time runs out.

Developed by the FINJI team, Usual June is led by Creative Director Adam Saltsman (Overland, Canabalt), and produced in collaboration with Writer David Pinckney (Needle & Thread), BAFTA winning writer Cara Ellison (Ghost Town, The Seance of Blake Manor) and BAFTA winning audio director Adam Hay (Dreams, Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture).

Usual June will be launching October 28th, 2026 on PC and Mac via Steam. In the meantime, players can wishlist the game now on Steam, play the demo, and stay alert for news on FINJI’s website, Bluesky or instagram.
