CHICAGO, USA – August 10, 2026

Artificium Games is proud to announce their debut (and entirely human made) adventure Oops! You’re the Hero!, which is releasing on Steam and itch.io September 15, 2026 and seeks to subvert genre norms.

Oops! You’re the Hero! is a top-down action-adventure game set in a fantasy world where players control a thief who gets more than he bargains for in his latest escapade. After stealing a long-forgotten artifact, the world’s monsters, villains, and all-around bad guys deem the thief the world’s hero and try to stop him at all costs. The thief must then embark on an adventure to return what he stole after deciding the hero’s life isn’t for him.

Explore a fantasy world, fight enemies and bosses, and navigate puzzles – or don’t. In true pickpocket style, each level is designed to give players a choice to go head-to-head with a region’s boss or stealthily bypass them to stay laser-focused on their goal of returning the artifact.

“I wanted to stay true to the main character’s personality and give the players an out for things they may or may not want to do,” says Kit A., founder of Artificium Games.

“That also includes giving the player’s tools during fights and exploration options that are more unconventional than what a standard hero would normally get.”
