The London-based (the UK) award-winning independent video games publisher Curve Games and Vancouver-based (Canada) indie games developer IronOak Games, are today very happy and thrilled to announce that they have just released the “Resistance” trailer for their turn-based roguelike tabletop RPG “For The King II”.

In the new trailer, fans will see the reveal of:

‘Landboats’- for the first time, players will be able to travel together in the overworld within these vehicles.
‘Mercenaries and Pets’ – brand new to the series, players will be able to recruit characters and animals to join their party and fight alongside them.
‘Scourges’ – the return of the Scourge system from For The King, with the trailer introducing a newly imagined ‘Hangman’ in the stunning new art style.

Inspired by tabletop adventures, For The King II builds on the hugely popular and successful original game’s challenging blend of strategy, turn-based combat, and roguelike elements to create an epic new experience that includes the most requested fan feature by far: four player co-op!

The game is scheduled for release on Steam in 2023.

For The King II transports you deep into Fahrul during a period of crisis and peril. The once beloved Queen Rosomon has turned against her subjects, leaving you and a group of resistance fighters to strike back and fight for the freedom of the realm.

The story will be accessible and exciting for new players, whilst also offering fans of the For The King a continuation of the original narrative arc. With a greater focus on strategic decision making and class, armor and weapon customization, players will need to pick their battles carefully, arming characters with the skills and gear needed to succeed in this famously accessible yet challenging combat system that rewards planning and foresight.

Players can choose to fight side-by-side with friends or split up to claim loot for themselves to provide unique abilities, tactical advantages, and powerful synergies. The more you play, the more items you unlock to use in future adventures!
