Press release:
THIONVILLE, France – March 1, 2022.
The France-based indie games publisher Goblinz Publishing and Denmark-based indie games developer ThingOnItsOwn, today announced with great joy and thrill that their turn-based strategy/RPG “Hero’s Hour” is now available for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.
Set off on a journey to become a courageous hero with the company of a mighty stallion to overthrow dangerous foes in foreign lands. Collect bountiful resources to aid in the construction of towns and upgrades of valiant armies. Pay weekly visits to mills and increase the supplies of ever-growing communities like the Docks to secure claim to the waters as well as the lands.
Embark on a new adventure at every turn, with procedurally generated maps presenting additional areas to explore and overcome with each playthrough. Seize rival guarding essentials like sawmills and mines to take over their daily supplies for new settlements. Visit mysterious obelisks across minefields, snow-swept mountains, and pastures in hopes of clues leading to long-hidden treasures such as the Tunic of Mayhem that recruits the crazed spirits of fallen units to temporarily aid in battle
Command more than 200 units like the ruinous health-stealing ritualists, wound-mending paladins, fire-spitting vulcanwings, and venomous lizardchers. Master one of the many distinct abilities from each of the 20 hero classes, including Blessings to temporarily increase the health, damage, and speed of friendly units, or Firetrapping to weaken enemies while teleporting them to distant corners of the battlefield. Cast more than 80 spells such as Deathripple to poison nearby enemies or Quakes to simply disorient their sense of direction; all to ensure victory after victory in fast-paced auto-battles.
“Hero’s Hour puts an innovative spin to the Heroes games by blending real-time with turn-based gameplay,” said Johann Verbroucht, founder and manager at Goblinz Publishing.
“A tribute to the genre, the developers put a lot of effort into creating a comprehensive experience filled with bespoke details at every corner, from the quirky pixel art to all the different units, spells, and artifacts present in-game.”
Hero’s Hour launches on PC via Steam, GOG, and Epic Games today for $17.99 USD / 14.99€. It supports English, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Europe and Latin America), French, German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Chinese (Traditional and Simplified) languages.
