Published by NACON and developed by the Chilean studio ACE Team, “Clash: Artifacts of Chaos” is a unique action-adventure game in terms of its gameplay and art direction. Visually, there is the signature ACE Team style (Rock of Ages, The Eternal Cylinder), whose original designs range from the unusual to the flamboyant.

As for the gameplay, players will get to unleash the ferocity of the main character, Pseudo, in third-person combat. Aside from exploration and combat, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos stands out from other action-adventure games because of a unique mechanic: the Ritual. Each participant has artifacts with unique properties, and the outcome of this ancient tradition defines the rules of the fight.

Clash: Artifacts of Chaos is now available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation®5, PlayStation®4, Steam and Epic Games Store.

How many days have passed since Grandpa died? I’m still just as sad deep down, but at least I’ve stopped crying. There’s no doubt that having Pseudo at my side has helped me cope. He’s more than a friend: to me, he’s a hero! We’ve already been through so much together…

Pseudo really is unique. He’s not a Corwid and yet he lives on the fringes of society. He’s rather… withdrawn. But at the same time, he’s very funny and likes to joke around and boast. From what I know, he used to train in martial arts with a master.

That explains why he’s so good at fighting! Although he’s smaller and not as strong as lots of creatures, he moves really quickly and dishes out loads of punches to the bad guys. He knows how to adapt to his opponents because he’s mastered lots of different techniques. And sometimes he lets his rage burst out by performing super powerful finishing moves. Pseudo is amazing!

It’s a good thing that Pseudo knows how to fight. Because that nasty Gemini is always sending mercenaries to capture me. She reigns over Zenozoik these days, and she wants to use my powers apparently. Or rather, my curse… the reason Grandpa died… the reason my brother refuses to see me… By protecting me, Pseudo is in direct conflict with Gemini. I can’t help but be worried for him.

I mean, Pseudo has already been defeated by stronger and more numerous enemies. And I’ve witnessed something very strange: at night, a different Pseudo, a wooden version of him, moves through the undergrowth towards my friend to help him regain consciousness. It’s a very strange sight and I still can’t explain it! But night-time in Zenozoik has always been mysterious. Monsters with red eyes roam and chests appear under the light of the moon.

When Pseudo comes to his senses, I’m always a little afraid he’s not in his right mind. But everything seems to be OK each time. He’s still very much alive, and he proves it whenever he can during the Ritual, the traditional game of dice of Zenozoik.

The outcome of each game defines the handicaps or advantages each combatant has during the fight. He looks at the board… and Tchak! He changes the value of his opponent’s dice! Then another Tchak and he doubles his points! The fight is much easier when an enemy is plagued by a swarm of bees or when a creature comes to fight alongside us.

Pseudo and I have many more things to discover, places to explore and enemies to defeat… But as long as he’s by my side, I’m sure everything will turn out for the best.
