The Budapest-based (Hungary) indie games developer Pixel Works today announced with great pride and delight that their VR social 8-ball & 9-ball billiards game “The Rack“, is now available via Oculus Quest for the Meta Quest headset.

The game provides players with the exciting chance to step into a virtual reality pool hall and play billiards with friends and strangers, raising the stakes by betting virtual currency on each game if they wish.

Developer Pixel Works is already well-known for creating Black Hole Pool, the most popular 8/9-ball billiards game for virtual reality platforms. Now, with The Rack, Pixel Works is taking its perfectly-crafted physics and mind-blowing visuals to the logical next step, by creating a fully-explorable pool hall for players to meet up and play together

Perfect for fans of immersive social gaming like PokerStars VR, The Rack provides multiple rooms for players to join, inhabit and interact, whether it’s for casual free-play fun, or more serious matches, where players can stake games to win The Rack’s unique in-game currency.

The Rack launches for the Meta Quest headset via AppLab from today, with compelling features, such as a store where players can use their in-game winnings to access cosmetics such as new pool cues and soon, new balls. Additionally, players and their friends can access private rooms, immersive spaces allowing players to congregate and watch their favorite content from YouTube on the in-game televisions while they play.

Over the coming months, developer Pixel Works will continue to add exciting new additions to the game, such as tournament play and exciting cosmetic content.

The Rack is available from today on the Meta Quest via AppLab. Players can enjoy the game for free, now.
