Press release:
The Warsaw-based (Poland) indie games developer Ovid Works today announced with great excitement and happiness that their whimsical VR space sim “Interkosmos 2000” (which is the follow-up to its whimsical VR space sim “Interkosmos), is coming to PC via Steam on February 16th, 2023!

And to celebrate its Steam release the game will come with a discount for a limited time! The creators of the game are also pleased to share that Interkosmos 2000 has won the Best VR Game Award in the Taipei Game Show 2023.

“Interkosmos 2000” will now be available on multiple VR headsets and is ready to take its players on a fierce space journey! Players will experience firsthand the life of an astronaut in space and undergo training in order to survive and complete dangerous missions in low Earth orbit. VR players will be thrilled to know that Interkosmos 2000 will provide thrilling adventures and a free-flight sandbox mode accompanied by stunning visuals.

The exciting story mode will teach how to single-handedly manage a spaceship and deal with emergencies the player might face. Precision and perseverance will be key in controlling the cockpit in order to avoid asteroid collisions and safely reach your destination.

Seated in a realistic space capsule, the players will face a series of challenging events that will test their skills to remain alive and finish the mission successfully. The player will learn how to properly manage the engines, control the navigation and guidance systems to perform various precise maneuvers, such as docking or changing orbits, while maintaining the capsule’s integrity. The ultimate goal is to survive and save the future!

Interkosmos 2000 has won an award for the Best VR Game in the Indie Games Show that took place at Taipei Game Show in Taiwan between 2nd and 5th February 2023. TGS has been delivering exciting gaming festivals since 2003 and this year they appreciated the Polish production developed by Ovid Works for bringing real space experience into VR.

Some of the key features of Interkosmos 2000:

Experience the feeling of an astronaut: manage engines, control navigation and guidance systems, maintain environmental systems, solve problems that may arise, dock with space stations, avoid asteroids and other obstacles, experience a virtual flight over Earth and re-enter Earth’s atmosphere.

Try out a fascinating story mode that takes you from launch to landing.

Immerse yourself in a world with extraordinary graphics and admire the galactic panorama as you journey through space in a capsule inspired by real shuttles filled with buttons, switches and levers. The experience will be even more realistic thanks to surround sound effects.

Enjoy the thrilling story mode and fly through space in an open sandbox mode.

Not only will the Steam version of the game premiere on February 16th with multiple language versions, but an update will be introduced to the Oculus version, which will gain additional languages versions: German, French, Spanish and Chinese.

Interkosmos 2000 will launch on Steam on February 16th for 19.99 USD and, for a limited time, will be available at a 10% off to celebrate its launch! You can find the game here.
