The first FPS about the nazi invasion of Poland in September 1939 will hit Steam on May 27th. The developers at MS Games are presenting 10 minutes of gameplay from their upcoming title, inspired by classic military shooters. See how the first minutes of WW2 looked like in “Land of War: The Beginning“.

A few moments after the Luftwaffe bombarded the town of Wieluń, on the night between August 31st and September 1st, private Piotr Kowalski is sent out to defend the village of Mokra. The player takes his role in the trenches as Land of War: The Beginning commences.

Land of War is set in a part of WW2 history often neglected by video games – the nazi invasion of Poland in Spetember 1939. As a Polish soldier, gamers will visit the most important battlefields of this campaign, such as the battle of Mokra, the siege of Warsaw or the defense of the Hel peninsula.

Land of War: The Beginning will arrive on Steam on May 27th, at a price of 29,99 USD. The game will be available with additional paid DLCs containing:

⚬ Thompson 1928 submachine gun – a variant of the classic American tommy gun, commissioned by the Polish Police in the interwar period. Some of these guns saw combat during the September campaign. After the fall of Poland they were hidden and then used by the underground resistance,

⚬ Mosin-Nagant (wz. Radom) revolver – a Russian revolver produced in Radom, Poland. The gun was unique due to a specific shell-release mechanism. It was used by Polish troops in September 1939,

⚬ VIS Pistol, galvanized – a legendary pistol from Radom with hand-crafted individual ornaments. Customized handguns were common among the Polish army, though this practice went against the military code.

All additional weapons can be bought separately or together as a part of the Premier edition of Land of War: The Beginning.

MS Games has confirmed that the game will be released in several editions with free DLCs and collectors’ materials. Post-launch support will include expansions focusing on the early events of WW2, following the invasion of Poland. Xbox One release is planned for later this year.
