Press release:
Wiesbaden, Germany – 17th November 2022.
The Germany-based video games developer and publisher Assemble Entertainment and indie games studio Team ADOM, are today very proud and happy to announce that their rogue-like dungeon crawler “Ultimate ADOM – Caverns of Chaos”, is now available for the Xbox One (via the Microsoft Store) and Nintendo Switch (via the Nintendo Eshop) with a PlayStation 4 launch to follow.
From heralded publisher Assemble Entertainment and developer Team ADOM, Ultimate ADOM invites you to ready your blade, bow, and spells as you set to venture into the endless, procedurally generated caverns of chaos.
A sequel 25 years in the making, Ultimate ADOM – Caverns of Chaos returns players to the world of Ancardia, currently enjoying a rather suspicious lull in cataclysmic events. Unfortunately, something is ‘a stirrin’ in the caverns below, and it’s up to you to head down into the darkness and see what sort of evil is brewing.
Luckily for you, there is a nearly endless combination of spells, weapons, and abilities available to get you through the dungeons safely…perhaps not the first time, or the second time, but definitely at some point.
Bringing together the past and the present, the game contains all the hallmarks of the genre but with contemporary stylings and additions for current hardware, like a modern user interface and reworked support for controllers. Players can also choose between a slick new graphic mode and the more classic “old school” ASCII look.
Key Features of Ultimate ADOM:
Just One More Run: Thanks to a staggering combination of procedurally generated levels and plenty of items, monsters, spells, classes, genders, and races, the old adage “Only one more and I’ll go to bed” has never been more true
Crafting and… Grafting?: Crafting is useful, but why waste all those severed limbs lying around? Grafting allows players to put these previously useless hunks of meat to use by attaching them to their own body, which really opens things up for a (multiple) hands-on approach
Bookmark your Grimoire: With a whopping 100+ spells to utilize spread across multiple specializations, dungeon-delvers have a deep well of thaumaturgic therapy to draw from and use against their foes. Possess your enemies, summon a support demon, or stick with the classics and simply blast those pesky monsters in the face with a fireball.
Different Skills for Different Situations: With more branches than an 18th-century nobleman’s family tree, the 300+ skills — and secret, hidden, mystery skill trees — ensure more than enough build variety and experimentation for even the most discerning roguelike veteran
Ultimate ADOM: Caverns of Chaos is available for €19.99 EUR (Xbox and Nintendo Switch) and £17.99 GBP (Nintendo Switch) and £14.99 GBP (Xbox), with a limited-time 40% and 20% launch discount on Nintendo Switch and Xbox, respectively.
Ultimate ADOM players can support the developers and the ‘The International Agency for
Research on Cancer’ (IARC) by purchasing the Save The World Edition (£25.99 GBP / €29.99 EUR) on Steam. For every special edition purchased, Assemble Entertainment will donate 10% of the proceeds to the IARC.
