Stress is a big deal nowadays, as most of us suffer from it on one level or another. And since it’s bad for your health, makes you grumpy and sad. It´s really important to deal with it as soon as possible.  And luckily enough for you and me, there are a few things that can help relieve stress and here are five games perfect for stress relief!

1. Dynasty Warriors

Do not pursue Lu Bu, be Lu Bu

Musou games are the king of stress relief. It’s simple; you pick someone like Lu Bu or Tadakatsu Honda and just go to town on the worthless hordes of enemies, smiting dozens at a time. Games like “Dynasty Warriors”, “Samurai Warriors” or “Warriors Orochi” helps to relieve stress pretty quickly. As wading through countless enemy’s pulling of ridiculous combos with ease, feels really, really good. The huge selection of characters provides a variety, and crazy weapons keep things fun and frantic. So if you want some instant stress relief. Then you don´t need to look any further than Lu Bu and the Warrior games!

2. Journey

You could easily lose yourself for a few hours in the world of “Journey”.

“Journey” is a peaceful journey that can be played and beaten in one sitting. The gorgeous visuals, beautiful music and simple gameplay, will aid you in leaving your woes behind you. During your journey, you will also meet other players, and this isn’t an annoying aspect it’s actually nice coming across another adventurer. Whether you stay together or just have a passing meeting makes “Journey” quite a special game. It’s not a game that expects you to pull off ridiculous feats, or need lighting reactions. It’s simply something you can sit back, relax and enjoy.

3. Doom

Guns, guts and glory!

Sometimes, a peaceful adventure won’t cut it, and you just want to brutally rip someone´s (or something´s) head off and murder things, for such situations you need “Doom”. It’s all about killing demons, brutally, whether it’s with guns, fists or a chainsaw! It’s fast paced action that’s not for the faint of heart still not sold? Well, check out our PS4 review of “Doom” then 😉

4. Towerfall

“Towerfall” = Absolute carnage!

Stress relief with friends is always a good formula. A few beers and controllers can lead to a lot of fun. And one game delivers this twofold, which is “Towerfall”. And since “Towerfall” is a local co-op game. The game will leave you shouting, cheering and laughing. You play as an archer with a few arrows and the objective of killing your friends before they take your life. You have limited arrows, so you have to be careful not to waste them. Furthermore, your friends can pick up your arrows as ammunition; you can also catch arrows and kill people by simply jumping on them. The stages have a variety of hazards and pickups providing brilliant play grounds. This is a game I personally enjoy playing with a few of my own friends. It’s fun and simple to pick up and play. “Towerfall” is perfect for letting off steam after a hard day at work.

5. Grand Theft Auto V

gta v car

In “GTA V” you can go crazy, steal cars, blow stuff up, and do pretty much whatever you want.

I suppose you guessed that Rockstars “GTA V” would be on the list somewhere. Well, you guessed right. Because in “GTA V” you can nick a Tank and go on merry joyride of Doom blasting everything to bits? Maybe go swimming and play a spot of tennis then afterwards or become a dog and live a dog’s life? Grand Theft Auto more or less lets you do what you want. Not to mention you can go online with a few friends and cause more carnage too. There’s a nice blend of relaxation of violence to relieve stress. Whether it’s playing alone or with friends, you have the best of both worlds.

So, has this list given you a few ideas in how to relieve stress through gaming? Maybe you have a few games of your own you’d like to recommend, then leave your comments below!
