As most of you probably already know by now, Nintendo´s Switch console is set for a release on in March (March the 3rd). However, what you might not know is that the console is doing really good in Sweden. Well, at least when it comes to pre-orders via the Swedish retailer Webhallen. You see, Webhallen claims that their Switch pre-orders have surpassed their PS4 launch date sales:
***Google translation***
“Nintendo – The Comeback Kid! We are only included in January but 2017 promises to be Nintendo’s year. Already now we see that Nintendo Switch has more advanced bookings and tact better than the Playstation 4 release! The first shipment to release in March is already fully booked, but we recommend that you stand in line for the coveted console, to ensure allocation among the supplies that come in days and weeks after the release date.” – Webhallen Sweden AB
That´s great news for Nintendo with no doubt. However, it´s worth pointing out that a lot of people bought the Wii console on release as well, but a lot of people lost interest in the console after a couple of months. So the only thing that really matters is sales over time, and whether or not people will stay active on the console or not (as in buying new games and so on)…Because otherwise you might just end up with an Atari Jaguar, Dreamcast or Wii U on your hands. I truly hope that´s not the case with the Switch console though.
Well, time will tell I guess. Nevertheless, I wish Nintendo the best of luck!
