Last night, I reached out to CEO Gaming for a comment on what actually went down with Ashley Riot´s Cammy cosplay at CEO 2016. However, I am yet to receive an answer to my question. And it seems like Mark Kern is trying to find out what actually happen to Riot as well:

“LFG members have asked us to look into why @AshleyRiotArt was prevented from cosplaying as Cammy at the @CEOgaming fighting game event hosted at Wyndham Resort, Orlando.

We were contacted by the event CEO, @CEOJebailey, who said it was the hotel’s decision to require Cammy wear pants. Instead of answering more questions, the CEO blocked @Grummz and then subtweeted about cyberbullying.

We’ve reached out to the Convention Services Director at the Wyndham to try to get a statement.” – Mark Kern

So, Jebailey (the founder of CEO Gaming and the host of CEO 2016) told Mark Kern that it was the hotel (Wyndham hotel in Orlando on International Drive?) that told Ashley Riot to put on some pants on her Cammy cosplay. And then Jebailey just told Kern the following:

“that was the hotel management’s call and out of my control” – Jebailey, founder of CEO Gaming and the host of CEO 2016 via Twitter

And at this moment I don´t know if that´s the truth, or just a lame excuse to side-step away from the #CammyPants incident (yes, the Ashley Riot Cammy cosplay “incident” even has its own hashtag on Twitter now). However, I do understand that CEO Gaming 2016 tournament organizers are busy with the tournament and everything. And that is, in fact, what Andrés (IT Professional, Tournament Organizer for EVO, CEO and Combo Breaker) told Mark Kern via Twitter. So I truly hope that Jebailey will come clean about everything once the CEO Gaming 2016 event is over. As there are quite a few people out there that would like to know the truth about what happen to Miss Ashley Riot.

***UPDATE 1 – 2016-06-25 – 22:45 CEST***

I was just informed that Mark Kern (thanks No Chill Pill Will and Lyle Yiannopoulos!) was blocked by CEO Gaming on Twitter when he asked them two questions about Ashley Riot´s Cammy cosplay (as seen in the pictures down below). And, well, what can I say? I don´t get why they would do that. I mean, it´s not like it´s going to make things any easier for them. On the contrary, it´s goint to get far worse for CEO Gaming now. As they have made people both curious and suspicious (which would be the deadliest of combos when it comes to trying to cover up incidents and scandals such as this) about what happened to Ashley Riot and her Cammy cosplay at the CEO 2016 event.

Well, you know what they say about “curiosity killed the cat” right? For most part, there is a whole lot of truth to that saying. However, since neither Mark Kern nor LFG is a cat. They took on the case with Ashley Riot and her Cammy cosplay. And this is what Mark Kern found out:

In other words, there is more to the case with Ashley Riot and her Cammy cosplay then meets the eye. So I truly hope that the CEO Gaming folks will make an official statement on what exactly happened at the CEO 2016 event. Especially since Mark Kern ended up getting blocked on Twitter when he started to ask them questions about Ashley Riot´s cosplay…As for me, I have reached out to CEO Gaming for a comment about all of this.

*Deep sigh* And here we go again. Sure, some of you might not remember the “#PAXnavelpolicy“, “Booth babe policies” and the “aggressive navel” policy from last years Pax Prime event (Pax Prime 2015). Well, please allow me to refresh your memory on the subject. As a similar “incident” has popped up on the horizon. You see, the female cosplayer Ashley Riot seems to have been forced to put on some pants on her Cammy cosplay at the CEO 2016 event:

And one could really tell that Ashley Riot was upset over the whole thing, as she left the following message on her Facebook and Instragram page:

“APPARENTLY I HAVE TOO MUCH JELLY FOR FLORIDA!!! Thanks so much to the person who complained to the staff at @CEOGaming. And Because of you I had to pants my Cammy Cosplay. Because in 95* weather children will be traumatized if they see LEGS!!!!!! Oh my! To be clear the staff for the con has been amazing and respectful. I’m pissed at the person who can’t handle someone having fun in Cosplay and people enjoying a character like Cammy! ‪#‎ToohotforCEO‬” – Ashley Riot, via Facebook

And it didn´t stop there either, as Ashley Riot headed over to twitter to let off some steam:

Sure, I can´t speak for everyone else now. However, on a personal level I perfectly understand why Ashley Riot are angry, sad and disappointed with the people in command of the 2016 CEO event. As I find the whole thing to be ridiculous. I mean, if you can´t handle some female legs and booty at a big Gaming event. Then how are you supposed to deal with legs and booty at the gym beach or on the street? And like I wrote in my “The #PAXnavelpolicy and “Booth Babe” policies rants at Pax Prime 2015” in August last year. I knew that it would just be a matter of time before “some” people would start to target female cosplayers, and force them to cover up their bodies. As their booty could “trigger” and “offend” them.

And trust me on this, this is just the very beginning of the take down of female cosplayers (they stick out way too much for “some” people, so cosplayers are very easy targets for them). In other words, everything that has been happening with games and censorship are now taking place in the world of cosplay. So if nothing is done about it, then who knows? Either cosplayers will have to wear full-size burqas at events, or they might end up being banned altogether?

Well, I really hope that won´t be the case. As I believe that cosplayers (male and female) should be able to make accurate cosplays of their favorite game, movie, comic or anime characters without risking having to censor their own creations (or end up being removed from the event in question). Simply because “some” people can´t handle their booty and sexiness. Even so, I still think that it´s events such as CEO 2016 that needs to grow a pair. Because at the end of the day, it´s up to the people in charge to tell the loud minority voices to accept that they won´t tell cosplayers to tone down their cosplays in-order to avoid “triggering” or “offending” a handful of people.

And based on what I´ve seen from Ashley Riot! (Twitter, Instagram and Facebook) the story appears to be to be 100% true. So it´s going to be really interesting to see if the people behind CEO Gaming 2016 will make any statements about forcing Riot to tone down her Cammy cosplay. Time will tell…And now that I think about, all of this actually made me think about Chris Ray Gun song “Ain’t No Rest for the Triggered”. And sadly enough, that song is now the reality that most of us have to face on a daily basis (no matter if it´s on the Internet or in the “real” world).
