Press release:
Guangzhou, China, June 13th, 2022.
NetEase Games has unleashed a first look at its upcoming New Weird survival title “Once Human” at IGN’s Summer of Gaming and announced to kicks off a closed beta test in September.

Aired on June 11th, the showcase featured an in-depth look at the new PC title for the first time, revealing a brand new trailer and gameplay footage showing off the game’s striking art style.

Set in a bleak, post-apocalyptic future, Once Human presents a time where the opening of a mysterious door has unleashed Stardust, creating spine-tingling monsters and twisting the world beyond recognition. Enhanced by this Stardust, players in Once Human become Beyonders, boasting special abilities to aid them in surviving the horrors that have taken over. As players set out into the world, they’ll need to scavenge for resources, set up their home base, and take on a horrific array of monsters if they want to survive.

During IGN’s Summer of Gaming, players got a first look at some of the colossal aberrant monsters they’ll face as they strive to survive in Once Human. Twisted by the Stardust pollution that has seeped into the world, creatures and beings infest the land waiting to stop players in their quest to survive.

In Once Human, players can choose either PvE mode or PvP mode. A first time in-depth look at each mode was shown during the showcase. In PvE mode, players can freely explore the deadly world and take on the terrifying monsters that cross their path. Players looking to cooperate with others can opt for PvP mode, where they’ll team up with other players and work together to defeat enemy strongholds and loot them for resources.
