It’s been quite a while since the last time I did a Gaming mouse review (my latest Gaming mice reviews include my Speedlink Decus Gaming mouse, and my Roccat Tyon Gaming mouse review). Well, now it’s finally time for me to do a new Gaming mouse review again! (good thing that, since my old mouse was playing on its last tune).
You see, I’ve been using Roccat’s Kone Aimo Gaming mouse for over three weeks time now. So I have tested the Koan Aimo mouse to its very limits with games such as “DOTA 2”, “Overwatch“, “The Elder Scrolls Online”, “PUBG”, “Doom 2016”, “Fallout 4”, “Counter Strike”, “Battlerite Royale” to “Insomnia: The Ark“.
Right off the bat. I was pleasantly surprised by how comfortable the Kone Aimo is to use. Because most of the Gaming mice that I have used in the past, hasn’t been anywhere close to being as comfortable as the Koan Aimo is. Furthermore, the design is on point as well. So not only will your Gaming mouse hand feel really good while Gaming, your mouse will also look truly good while you do so.
Other than that, the Kone Aimo’s functionality, software and tech is at the very top of the line as well. For starter, the “Swarm” mouse software allows you to change and adjust your Kone Aimo settings as you please. Simply put, you can change the settings to fit your needs and personal taste (you can make different game profiles for different game titles).
In my case, I play more FPS games than anything else. So I fooled around with the settings until I found a setup that works well with FPS games. Anyways, as for the actual game mouse itself. The Kone Aimo works great with pretty much everything there is. So it doesn’t matter if it’s Gaming, browsing through the net, using Photoshop or whatever.
Because no matter what I throw at the Kone Aimo Gaming mouse, it got the job done, and it did it well. I would also like to point out that the buttons are really well placed on the Kone Aimo. In other words, you won’t be smashing your Gaming mouse to bits just because you pushed the wrong button by mistake while playing some ranked match game online. Nice! But what about cons then?
Well, there are a few things that I would like to point out in terms of cons for the Kone Aimo Gaming mouse. For example, the mouse cable tends to get curled up after a while…And since the Kone Aimo has a lot of cracks in its mouse design, it’s rather easy for one to accidentally drop down food, candy or whatever in-between Kone Aimo’s cracks.
So that means that you will have to clean your Kone Aimo Gaming mouse every now and then unless you want it to look, smell and function like something that you just found in a dumpster. Even so, I still find the Roccat Kone Aimo to be a nicely designed, comfortable and great Gaming mouse. As the Kone Aimo offers all the ingredients that makes a Gaming mouse awesome, and to a good price.
So if you’re looking for a great Gaming mouse that doesn’t burn a huge hole into your wallet, then look no further than Roccat’s Kone Aimo.
Pros:
+ A nicely designed, comfortable and great Gaming mouse at a good price
+ Very adjustable with the Roccat software “Swarm” anything from changing mouse key binds, polling rate to distance control unite. You also use the mouse sensitivity buttons on your mouse to change the sensitivity directly
+ Well placed buttons that have a great design and easy click mechanic, and that makes it feel like you’re barely pushing the button which gives a nice flow when you’re gaming
+ I really like the hand shaped form that gives a nice grip and mouse control.
+ The Kone Aimo has five sliding pads underneath it which that gives the mouse a smooth ride over the mouse pad during gameplay. I’m also guessing that those five pads makes it much easier to use it on rougher surfaces, so if you’re unlucky and forgot your mouse pad. You can always use it on a magazine or something (been there, done that)
+ There are 23 programmable keys, a really cool RGB AIMO LED Illumination feature
+ The optical Owl-Eye sensor gives you a very high precision while gaming (100 to 12.000 DPI)
Cons:
– The mouse cable seems to be one of those who curls up after a while if you don’t have it stretched out properly
– If you’re messy munch eater you might have to consider to stop eating near the mouse or clean it very often because there are a lot of cracks where crumbs can stack up, unless you want squirrels (or rats) to kidnap your mouse.
Techonolgy: 5/5
Comfort: 5/5
Software: 5/5
Design: 4.5/5
Verdict 5/5
The Kone Aimo is a mouse that I’ve tested for the past few weeks. Well, I’ve noticed small improvements to my gameplay, as it’s much more comfortable than my previous mouse. So the Kone Aimo has really impressed me when it comes to tech, design and comfort (which are some of the most important aspects of a really good Gaming mouse). So if you want something for long gaming hours and tactical gameplay for a good price, then I highly recommend you to buy Roccat’s Kone Aimo.
