It seems like Mykhail Konokh “might” be on to something with his/her Sci-fi puzzle game “Somewhere On Zibilon” (you play as a repair drone). At least, that´s how I felt when I tried an early build demo of the game last night (which, by the way, runs on the Blender Game Engine). And I can´t really say that I have played all that many games like “Somewhere On Zibilon” either. As you got these “Decent” (space/sci-fi theme/space shuttle exploration) and “Portal” (robots, puzzle solving) vibes going on. Not only that, you´re exploring and solving puzzles in a 100% zero gravity environment as well. And that alone makes it worth giving the “Somewhere On Zibilon” demo a try.

As for my thoughts on “Somewhere On Zibilon” so far. Well, the controls are rather smooth. The graphics look good and the puzzles are pretty balanced (not too easy, nor too hard). And you don´t get bored that easy either. As you got hostile aliens to worry about, tons of puzzles to solve, and you got a big space station to explore as well (it´s your job restore order to the station, and to find out what it was that caused the stations system failure).

So it´s going to be really interesting to see what the final version of “Somewhere On Zibilon” will be like, but for now. We can only enjoy the demo and wait for the final product to be released (there is no release date for the game so far).
