It must have been something of a dream come true for the Airship Syndicate team (they have worked on games such as “Darksiders” 1 and 2 in the past), as their JRPG game “Battle Chasers: Nightwar” (Windows, MAC, PS4 and Xbox One) got 105% funded in less than 72 hours on Kickstarter (Battle Chasers have collected almost $600,000 so far!). At least, that´s the vibes I felt when I read through some of the update posts by the Battle Chasers development team. Not only that, it´s a dream come true for all the fans of Battle Chasers as well. Because people have asked Joe Madureira (the creator of the comic series, CEO and creative director at Airship Syndicate) to bring back Battle Chasers to the world again for years now (between 1998 and 2001, nine issues of the Battle Chasers comics were released. So it has taken almost 17 years for “Battle Chasers: Nightwar” to become a reality). Well, so far so good thanks to all the backers at Kickstarter (+9,000 people). In fact, three stretch goals have already been reached (dungeon modifiers, roaming airship pirates and additional languages). So there is just three stretch goals left now (New Area: Wintervein $600,000, Tavern mini game $625,000 and a secret stretch goal $675,000).

“Battle Chasers: Nightwar” made me think of a combination of “Chrono Trigger,” “Darksiders” and “Diablo 3.”
And due to the fact that there is 25 days left on the “Battle Chasers: Nightwar” Kickstarter campaign. I´m quite sure that Airship Syndicate (which consists of ex-Vigil Games veterans) will reach every single one of the remaining stretch goals with no sweat. So what kind of game is “Battle Chasers: Nightwar” exactly? Well, it´s a JRPG game (which takes place in a randomly-generated world) that´s inspired by some of the greatest old-school Jrpg games from the 80s and 90s (Chrono Trigger, FF7 with many more).
So yes, there will be turn-based combat events in “Battle Chasers” (plus tons of secrets, a deep story and beautiful hand drawn environments and graphics). You will also get the great pleasure to play (control) as Gully (magic gauntlets), Garrison (A fallen Paladin), Monika (A notorious outlaw), Knolan (A old mage) and Calibretto (A ancient war golem). So if that sounds like your kind of game, then show Battle Chasers: Nightwar some support on Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight!
