Press release:
Prague, 10. June 2026 – DayZ, the legendary game that started the genre, is making its way to Nintendo Switch 2 console! With tens of thousands daily active users across all platforms, this port opens up the door for new players to challenge themselves in a unique way and test their survival skills in the
post-apocalyptic world.

Available later this year as part of the Cool Edition Bundle, which features both the base game and DayZ Frostline, DayZ on Nintendo Switch 2 will support several platform-specific features, including gyro controls and Joy-Con mouse mode.

DayZ’s launch on Nintendo Switch 2 represents an important milestone for the franchise and reflects the team’s effort to bring the game to all relevant platforms while ensuring each platform offers an experience tailored to its distinct capabilities. The release also aligns with Nintendo’s broader efforts to expand its portfolio of mature gaming experiences on its newest hardware, with DayZ’s survival gameplay, player-driven storytelling, and open-world sandbox mechanics delivering a distinctive hardcore survival experience for Nintendo Switch 2 players.

As DayZ prepares to welcome a new generation of survivors, the developers encourage its long-standing community to help guide newcomers through their first steps. After all, the stories created by players remain the heart and soul of the DayZ experience.

About DayZ

DayZ is a gritty, authentic, open-world survival horror hybrid-MMO game, in which players follow a single goal: to survive in the harsh post-apocalyptic landscape as long as they can. Players can experience powerful events and emotions arising from the ever-evolving emergent gameplay. There are no superficial tips, waypoints, built in tutorials or help given to players. Every decision matters, there are no save games, no extra lives, every mistake can be lethal.

About Bohemia Interactive

Our story began with our first game, Arma: Cold War Assault, released back in 2001. Developed by just a handful of people, this PC-exclusive title became a massive success. Since then, we’ve grown from a ragtag bunch of garage devs to an international family of over 400 professionals, working on Arma 3, Arma 4, Arma Reforger, DayZ, Ylands, Vigor, our proprietary Enfusion engine, and various other projects. Our ambition: to make games that act as platforms for people to explore, create, and connect.
